Calling Glory - "Don't Give Up"

This has become one of my favorite new songs. I think it especially resonates with me now because this past Wednesday, I was able to lead my 98 year old grandmother to Christ. I have felt The Lord compelling me to pursue this over the last few years, and when I went to see her this past week, and she was so miserable and in a lot of pain and discomfort, I felt God telling me to talk to her about it. Fortunately, her caretaker was also there and is a strong Christian. After asking her if she wanted to ask Jesus into her heart and hearing her say yes, that was all I needed to hear. I led her through a prayer and she even repeated a couple of lines out loud even though I told her she just needed to say it and feel it in her heart. Afterwards, while we were still holding hands, she opened her eyes, smiled really big and kept saying thank you. Whether or not the thanks yous were to me or God (or both), I knew that she had made the decision. The key lesson here, don't give up!

This would have been a great song to hear when I was depressed a few years ago. Really reminds me of those times and how I was feeling.

Matthew West - "Forgiveness"

When I first heard this song, I heard the story behind it. Matthew West lately has been writing many of his songs based on the real-life stories of people who give him their stories. This is one about a woman who chose to give forgiveness to the drunk driver that killed her daughter. A very powerful story that is represented in this very powerful song. I think this would make a great worship song in church. I hope it becomes one. Amazing song...enjoy.
